Vintage 50’s Girl’s Sweet White Organdy Ruffled Dress

This vintage girl’s dress is so sweet, surely one to be worn to a special event. It is sheer white organdy, made to be worn over a slip dress and petticoat.
The entire dress is made of the sheer white organdy, save for the lace trim at the ruffled bodice treatment, and the white satin bow at the chest center. The puff sleeves are cuffed with a thin band of the same fabric, as is the neckline. The waist is trimmed similarly, with a thin roll of the fabric at the intersection of the bodice and skirt. Long fabric ribbons start at the side seams, and wrap around to the back to be tied in a bow.
The skirt is tiered with a ruffle of fabric at each tier.

This would look wonderful on a large antique doll, or hanging as a display piece. It would be great to have shadowbox frame for a young girl’s room. It would likely take gentle wear fine, but care should be taken.

There are pinholes at the waist where the dress was raised at one point, then let down again. There is a 1/4” long slit-type hole at the belly over the pin line, and a gap at the pin line at the back. There is very light yellowing at the underarms and three faint marks on the skirt in the lap area.
It has been freshly hand washed and line dried. I did not attempt any drastic stain removal or lightening techniques, since the fabric is so sheer and a bit delicate.
