Vintage 60’s Red Nature Print Hawaiian Holoku Wedding Dress with Train

This great vintage dress is a traditional holoku, or Hawaiian wedding dress. It would be great for a sunset wedding on the beach, Hawaiian theme party, or poolside ceremony.
The fabric is just outstanding. The bold red color is printed with deep black, white, and shades of pink, and touched with highlights of shimmering metallic gold. The nature-themed print is beautifully detailed, featuring birds, trees, leaves, and flowers.
The styling is traditional to the holoku. The collar is wide, U-shaped both front and back, with an intense amount of ruffled fabric all around. Cap sleeves peek out from under the ruffles. The bodice has darts that run to the hem, and no seamed waistline, only the curve tailored into the fabric. The hem mimics the neckline, with a wide band of ruffled fabric all around. The front hem would fall below the knee to above the ankle, depending on your height (my manni is above average height). The hem angles down at the sides, and curves into a long train, which, when fully extended, trails 3 feet behind the front hem, and spreads close to 4 feet wide. The train area is thoughtfully backed with solid red fabric. It has a loop midway through the train for carrying the train while walking, or when dancing, similar to those found on traditional wedding dresses.
I have shown this with a chunky bead necklace as a suggestion for a great look.

There are a few issues, as noted in the images above, all centered around the lower portion by the zipper. None of which would keep the dress from being worn.
There is a hole in the folded part of the placket, through the top layer only. It has been treated with Fray Check to hold the fabric. .
The bottom of the zipper placket has a hiccup in the fabric and has been bound with threads.
About 5” below the zipper is a tear, shown on the right of the lower image. The fabric has been put back into place and bound shut. A patch could be put on the reverse of the fabric, if desired.
These issues blend in well with the fabric pattern.
It has been freshly laundered.

Measurements
The measurements are as follows. Measurements are of the garment, not the potential wearer, so please compare these measurements to your best fitting similarly styled garment to ensure a good fit. Don’t forget to allow room for movement and comfort.

The mannequin modeling has measurements of 32, 24, 34. The dress fits her well at the top, very loosely as it goes down. 49” inside of neckline to front hem, 17-18” inside of neckline to waist
Sleeve length is 2” from underarm to end
