Vintage 60’s Powder Blue Chiffon Bell Skirt Long Prom Party Dress S

Whether dressing for the big dance or a lovely black tie affair, this chic dress from the 60s will be a delight. The powder blue taffeta lining is covered with sheer blue chiffon, and accented with white and clear bead sets around the neckline and on the front. The beading sets are natural swirly shapes, with a cluster of clear beads at the center. Each set has a large faceted teardrop bead dangling from the bottom.
The bodice is fit to your curves, with a deep scoop neckline at the front, and an even deeper neckline at the back. White seed beads border the neckline in a line and triangle pattern. The waistline has two tiny self-fabric bows at the front.
The skirt is a full bell shape, with pleats at the waist to gather the fabric. The hem of the chiffon layer has a hidden woven stiffener to make the skirt rounded at the hem. A full, long layer of tulle helps with the full shape.

No holes or tears.
There are a couple of storage marks on the skirt, as shown. One is at the left thigh area on the skirt, the other in the lap area. Both should lighten or come off completely with a good dry cleaning.
A professional pressing will take out any of the deeper wrinkles in the skirt that my steamer could not remove, plus it will ensure the stiffener at the hem is pressed into place.
There is a small bit of fraying at the right underarm in the chiffon layer, directly around the arm hole. I have treated it with Fray Check to secure it, as there really isn’t a way to fix the issue with sewing.
It has been in storage for some time, and although it does not have odors, and is not dirty, a dry-cleaning is recommended before wearing.

The dress was clipped back for display and fit at picture time.

The measurements are as follows. Measurements are of the garment, not the potential wearer, so please compare these measurements to your best fitting similarly styled garment to ensure a good fit. Don’t forget to allow room for movement and comfort.

The mannequin modeling has measurements of 32, 24, 34. The dress fits her loosely.
