Vintage 50’s Lavender Gingham Check & Floral Appliqué Skirt XS

This fun vintage skirt is soft lavender with white and lavender gingham check detailing. The skirt is full at the hem thanks to heavy pleating at the waist. It buttons up from waist to hem with gingham fabric covered buttons. A large open top pocket on each front side is trimmed with more of the gingham, and features a rick-rack stemmed 3D flower with a gingham button eye.

No tears or stains.
The waist was taken in at one time, by folding in the fabric and sewing a dart. Since one was coming unsewn, and since the resulting waist size was very tiny, I let out the alteration. The fabric that was hidden in the fold did retain more of its color than what was exposed, and the stitch line can still be seen under inspection.
The bottom few inches of the button placket had been safety-pinned closed, so the fabric does have some hidden pinholes there. The pin holes, stitch lines and some of the coloring should settle out with a few washes.

It has been freshly laundered.
